Seattle or Bust!

Hi! It's Wen checking in!  I had an amazing time in Seattle...

First Vlad the cat took me everywhere around the house.  He gave me the grand tour!

Loki the dog dutifully gave me a bath every day!  Talk about hospitality.

Later, I accidentally mistook Tiber the Grumpy cat for Vlad, hoping for a ride out to the garden. Tiber wasn't very happy with me.

But, I did make it to the garden!  Benji just had planted tomatoes to add to his garden of raspberries, blueberries, various herbs, and other vegetables!

The next morning we got up super early to go to the Half-Priced Books Warehouse sale! The line was long, but we were near the front.

I found the perfect book for that grumpy old cat, Tiber!

After that we went to the University District to get Japanese food at Kikus and new plants for the garden at the Farmer's Market.  Benji and I helped pick out two new Tea plants for his Mommy for Mother's day.

While waiting for our food at Kiku's Benji made me a Money Rainbow over my head!

Then we went fishing... we waited along time for Benji to catch only ONE fish, but Benji did catch the tree many times!

I had a great time with Benji and his family.  I can't wait to see where I will go next!

Thanks Benji!
Your pal,

Beautiful Bonney Lake

I had a lot of fun with Rachel, Hannah, and Noah in Pierce County. We did a lot of amusing things together; such as going on walks, playing basketball, and making chocolate milkshakes. But there were two special things that we did that I thought were the best.

The first one was when we went to Noah’s birthday party! It was at Odyssey 1 family fun center in Tacoma. There were a lot of arcade games there. It was really cool!

We went into a room that had a big shark in it. Noah held me up by the shark. I was scared at first, but then I realized it was a painting and wasn’t as scared.

I think my favorite game was the game with ducks in it. I wasn’t very good at playing it, but it was fun to watch Hannah play it. Then we had cake and pizza. The cake was delicious! Finally we headed home.

My second favorite thing that we did was when we went to Pioneer Farms.  This is in Eatonville and we went for a WAVA outing. I loved riding on the wagon; it was actually pulled by a real horse!

Then Hannah showed me how to knead dough, I wanted to try, but they wouldn’t let me because I would get really dirty.

Rachel and Hannah dressed up in pioneer clothes. They looked really different.

Noah even tried sawing wood there, too!

I had a ton of fun, made new friends and learned a lot at Pioneer Farms...

Thanks Rachel, Noah and Hannah! I can’t wait to meet the next family!

Happy trails to me...

Battle Ground or Bust!

Both girls were over the moon when Walter came in the mail last week. It was kinda funny, I had just been looking at Walter and Wen's blog that day. It was also the most perfect timing. Last week was Jillian's 8th birthday. We were going to Sun River OR to play in the snow to celebrate.

Walter hung out with us at home first. We did science experiments...

Walter didn't bring his science goggles, so he watched from a safe container.

He also enjoyed gymnastics class, played guitar hero and air hockey. He even went to the chiropractor!

Then we packed him up for our road trip. We played in the snow on Mt. Bachelor. We did not let Walter play in the snow. He watched from the car.  We didn't want him to get dirty. He was there when Jillian opened her birthday presents, and ate her birthday cake.

He got to stay in a hotel with us. Frankly, I was a worried the whole trip because I didn't want to loose him. He is so small. We did good though. He made it back to Battle Ground with us safe and sound, and we shipped him off to his next family.

Walter didn't get to see much of our tiny lil town. Battle Ground is just a small town outside of Vancouver. There are just two main roads in Battle Ground - the highway leading into town and Main Street.

Check back soon to read all about my trip to beautiful Bonney Lake!
I can't wait to meet the next WAVA family!

Walter's Snohomish County Adventure!

I arrived in Snohomish County and was greeted with excitement by Tara, her teen-age sister and their two moms.  Tara ripped open the package eagerly hoping for a Walter or maybe even a Wen (she didn't know she would see us both, but that comes later in the story!).  Tara lives in a cohousing neighborhood in Snohomish County.  It was fun to see her neighborhood and meet all of the friendly people.

Fresh out of the box, I hung out in Tara's pocket while she was in her Moon Shoes.  It can be quite bouncy! She went really far and high, too!

I went online with Tara for a class of Literature.  I learned some about Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH.  I can't believe rats can be bigger than I am!

It was Tara's mom's birthday so she and I made applesauce muffins with apples from their tree.

I helped with the decorations.  In Tara's family, they decorate the whole lower level on birthdays.  I liked riding in the rainbow ball the best!

Tara is a Brownie Girl Scout.  I went to her troop meeting with her and we learned about selling Girl Scout cookies.  Yum!  Here I am with the cookie order sheet.

I went on a field trip with Tara and her mom to the Bellevue Art Museum.  We met Ms. Sloan there.  One of the best parts is that Ms. Britt was also there - with Wen!

I had a lot of fun looking at different ceramic art, but I really liked playing around with pencils with Wen.  I think Ms. Britt took some pictures of our reunion too!

Important Fact: Even monsters need to brush their teeth!

Tara does a lot of fun things!  During the week, she not only took me to the art museum, but she took me to...

a piano lesson...

swim class...

and even a jump rope class!
Tara did double dutch while I watched.  I think I might like to try turning the rope, but I would need some help.

I had fun in Tara's neighborhood in a snow chair (she said it was a snowball a couple of days earlier).  She also showed me what was left of an igloo that she had made before I got there.  Wow!

I had a great time with Tara and her family.  I wonder what further adventures I will have... I sure hope that I get to meet up with Wen again!

So long for now!

Marvelous Marysville!

We were very surprised to find Wen in our mailbox.  We didn't visit the great outlet stores here in Marysville but we had fun riding bikes, making shadow puppets (we couldn't resist on a day so full of sun, don't see that too often), going to swim lessons, going for a walk, and having red velvet cake for Timmy's 7th birthday party.

Shadow Puppets!

Wen's favorite dessert is red velvet cake. Yummy!

Wen takes a ride in another nifty stroller, and...

on a sweet bike. Hold on tight, Wen!

Did you know that Wen has many talents? They include...

Friendly Mailbox Visitor

and...

Wii Player Extraordinaire!

Wen does not like to get wet, unless it involves dog or baby slobber.
However, she DOES like to watch swimming lessons!

Marysville began as a place for loggers and now is a town of 57, 578 people.  There is an Indian reservation right next to Marysville called Tulalip.  One great thing the kids love about Marysville are the parks.  They also loved participating in the annual everyone track meet.  So fun to run races and receive ribbons.

Check back soon! Wen's next stop? Joint Base Lewis-McChord. Hooah!
